Point presser

nounStandard termTextiles

A wooden pressing tool with a narrow, tapered point for ironing tight corners.

A specialized pressing board made of unfinished hardwood, featuring a narrow, elevated anvil that tapers to a sharp point. Tailors slip collars, lapels, and cuffs over this point to press the seam allowances open before turning the garment right-side out. The narrow shape isolates the seam, preventing the iron from creasing the surrounding fabric.
