Marabou is a specialized thrown silk yarn made from high-quality, naturally white raw silk. Unlike most silk yarns that require scouring to remove the sericin (silk gum) before dyeing, marabou retains its gum during the dye process. This gives the resulting fabric a distinct stiffness and a slightly duller finish compared to fully degummed silk.
