Destashing is the act of purging hoarded materials that a maker realizes they will never actually use. Crafters often accumulate massive reserves of yarn or fabric, known as a stash, out of impulse or inspiration. When space runs out, they destash by trading with friends, selling lots online, or donating the surplus to make room for new materials.

I have to destash a whole bin of acrylic yarn this weekend because I only knit with wool now.
