Becket

nounStandard termTextiles

A small, reinforced thread loop sewn onto a garment to hold hardware or accessories.

A discrete loop of braided thread or buttonhole stitching anchored to the exterior of a jacket or uniform. It is engineered to hold heavy medals, ribbon bars, or ceremonial hardware. Using this loop prevents the underlying fabric from being destroyed by repeated pinning and unpinning of metal clasps.
