Frankenstein

verbShop talkShop Slang

The act of assembling a working device from mismatched or scavenged parts.

To build, repair, or modify a piece of equipment by combining incompatible components salvaged from other machines. This approach is usually taken when proper replacement parts are unavailable, budgets are tight, or an urgent fix is required to keep production running. The resulting creation is often ugly and difficult to maintain, but it serves its immediate functional purpose.
