Back-seat driving

nounShop talkShop Slang

The act of giving unwanted advice or micromanaging a task that someone else is actively performing.

This behavior occurs when a bystander or supervisor constantly corrects the worker holding the tool. It involves dictating exact movements, questioning methods, and disrupting the natural workflow of a skilled operator. Such interference usually slows down the job and increases frustration on the shop floor.
