Dry granular refractory compacted by vibration without water and sintered in place by heat.

A monolithic installed dry, usually behind a steel former, and densified by vibration, with a heat-activated binder or none at all. With no water to remove, it needs no long dry-out, and it sinters from the hot face back while the cooler layer stays granular and stops cracks. It is the standard lining for coreless induction furnaces and a common tundish working lining.
