A raised central roof section on railcars, or a steam manifold on a locomotive.

The raised central section running along the roofline of older passenger cars and cabooses, fitted with small windows or louvers. It provides natural light and ventilation to the interior while giving crews extra headroom. On steam locomotives, the turret also refers to the steam manifold mounted outside the cab that distributes boiler steam to accessories.
