Stabling siding

nounShop talkRailroad

A designated track used for storing passenger trains or locomotives when they are off duty.

A yard track or remote siding specifically dedicated to parking and securing train consists between assignments. While North American crews more commonly call this a layup track or storage track, the term appears in formal operating rules regarding where equipment can be safely tied down without blocking main movements.
