Push-pull

adjectiveStandard termRailroad

A train configuration that can be driven from either end without turning the locomotive.

A method of operating a train where a locomotive sits at one end and a control cab vehicle sits at the other. The engineer controls the train from the leading end in either direction. This eliminates the need to run the locomotive around the train at terminal stations, drastically reducing turnaround times for commuter operations.
