An articulated truck assembly where the ends of two adjacent cars rest on a single bogie rather than each car having its own pair of trucks. This design reduces the overall weight and number of axles in a trainset while preventing the cars from telescoping during a derailment. It is commonly found on intermodal well cars and specialized passenger trainsets.
We've a bad wheel bearing on the Jacobs bogie between the third and fourth platforms of that well car.
