Saxon

nounStandard termPrinting

An extremely small historic type size measuring about 2 points.

A rare, microscopic type size in the traditional naming system, equivalent to roughly 2 points. It is smaller than German and larger than Norse. Because it is nearly illegible to the naked eye and extremely difficult to cast and set in lead, it was rarely used in practical printing, serving mostly as a novelty or for microscopic reference marks.

Heard on the job

I can't imagine the eyestrain of the man who had to set a whole paragraph in Saxon.
