Proof sheet

nounStandard termPrinting

A physical page printed specifically for review and correction by editors or clients.

A single sheet containing a trial impression of set type or layout, used for marking up typographical errors, layout shifts, or color issues. In traditional typesetting, these were pulled quickly on a dedicated proof press before the heavy forms were locked into the main production press.
