Slicker

nounShop talkMetallurgy

A small hand tool used by moulders to smooth and repair sand surfaces.

A double-ended, spoon-like or flat metal tool used to compress and polish the faces of a sand mould after the pattern is removed. Moulders rely on it to patch torn edges, flatten loose sand grains, and ensure a clean surface finish on the final casting.
