Rotor

nounStandard termMechanical

The rotating inner component of a mechanical or electrical machine.

The primary moving part inside a stationary housing that transmits or receives power through rotation. In pumps and compressors, the rotor features vanes or lobes that move fluid. In electric motors and generators, it carries the magnetic field that interacts with the stator. It is typically mounted on a central shaft supported by bearings.

We need to pull the pump housing and inspect the rotor for cavitation damage.
