The state of a piece of equipment, moving part, or rigging line being pulled, pushed, or hauled until it can go no further and is properly seated. When an anchor is fully raised into the hawsepipe or a hatch cover is locked tightly into its seals, it is considered home. It signals that a mechanical action is complete and secure.
