Tool-teardown slang, popular on shop floors, for a machine that runs and does its job, said to be choochin' along. As a noun it means power, charge or energy, as in the battery is at full chooch, and the chooch factor rates how hard something works or how aggressive a cut is. Something that will not run has lost its chooch.
Rebuilt the motor, new brushes and bearings, plugged it in and she chooches like brand new.
Do not mix it up with
- Skookum: Skookum is about stout construction; chooch is about running and power.
