Guaranteed arrival

nounStandard termLogistics

A hotel booking secured by prepayment or a credit card that holds the room regardless of check-in time.

A guaranteed arrival ensures a hotel will not release a reserved room to walk-in customers, even if the guest arrives very late at night. The guest is financially responsible for the first night's room rate whether they show up or not. This protects both the traveler from losing their bed and the hotel from lost revenue on a no-show.

Heard on the job

I marked the reservation as a guaranteed arrival since his flight doesn't land until midnight.
