A document supplied by a touring act or lighting designer that specifies exactly what equipment, power, rigging, and crew the local venue must provide. Technical riders ensure that the lighting plot and control networks can be safely and accurately executed when the show arrives. Failure to advance the rider properly often leads to scramble situations where essential gear is missing during load-in.
Check the tech rider before we rent the local rig, they might specifically demand grandMA3 consoles and refuse anything else.
Always separate the technical rider from the hospitality rider; the local crew chief only needs the technical pages to prep the rig.
