A specific, mapped area of forest designated for timber harvesting.

An administrative and operational unit of forest land approved for logging. A cutblock has defined geographic boundaries, a specific silvicultural prescription, and a set volume of timber to be removed. It is the basic management unit for planning roads, harvest methods, and subsequent reforestation efforts.
