Cunit

unitStandard termForestry

A traditional unit of wood volume equal to 100 cubic feet of solid, unbarked timber.

A volumetric measurement used in the timber and pulp industries to quantify raw wood. One cunit equals exactly 100 cubic feet of solid wood, excluding the air space that would be found in a stacked cord. It provides a more accurate measure of actual wood fiber content for pulp mills than cord measure.

Heard on the job

The contract pays out at forty dollars a cunit delivered to the yard.
