The enclosed or clearly defined open space immediately adjacent to the main agricultural buildings of a farmstead. It serves as the primary staging ground for daily operations, including loading machinery, processing harvested crops, and temporarily holding livestock. The surface is heavily trafficked and often compacted, paved, or laid with gravel to withstand heavy tractors and trucks.
