Memory bank

nounStandard termElectronics

A logical unit of storage within a computer's memory architecture.

This refers to a distinct, addressable block of memory chips or a partition within a single chip that the memory controller accesses as a group. Organizing memory into banks allows interleaved access, where one bank can be read or written while another is preparing for its next operation, greatly increasing overall data throughput.
