DIMM

abbreviationStandard termElectronics

Dual in-line memory module, a printed circuit board holding memory chips used as main system RAM.

Dual in-line memory modules provide high-density random access memory for computers and servers. They feature separate electrical contacts on each side of the board edge, allowing a wider data path than older single in-line modules. They connect directly to the motherboard memory slots and are classified by generation, such as DDR4 or DDR5, and pin count.
