Guts

nounShop talkElectricians

Interior of a panel: the bus bars, breaker mounting and neutral assembly that bolt into the enclosure.

The guts are the panelboard interior, the assembly of bus bars, breaker connections, neutral bar and mounting rails installed in the tub after rough wiring is done. On commercial jobs they ship separately from the enclosure and are matched to it by model. Setting the guts and dressing the panel, routing every conductor neatly to its breaker, is a craft that electricians judge each other by.
