Ringhead

nounStandard termWoodworking

A circular cutterhead housing multiple blades, used in industrial woodworking machinery.

This heavy-duty tooling assembly consists of a steel or aluminum cylinder fitted with multiple cutting knives arranged around its perimeter. It spins at high RPMs on machines like molders, shapers, and planers to remove material rapidly and leave a smooth finish. The multi-knife design allows for faster feed rates while maintaining a high number of cuts per inch.
