An undesirable, coarse surface condition that occurs during the application of sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing. When wind catches the atomized foam particles, they land downwind and cure before they can flow into a smooth layer. This rough texture makes it difficult to apply the required protective elastomeric coating at the proper thickness, often leaving pinholes that lead to leaks.
The wind picked up this afternoon and left a terrible overspray surface texture on the parapet wall.
