A nano-farad (nF) is a hyphenated spelling of the SI submultiple nanofarad, equal to 10⁻⁹ farads. It represents a very common range for capacitors used in electronic circuits for filtering, decoupling, and timing applications. Surface-mount ceramic capacitors frequently fall into the 1 to 100 nF range.
