nanokatal

unitStandard termUnits

A nanokatal is one billionth of a katal, measuring trace levels of catalytic activity.

A nanokatal (nkat) is an SI submultiple of the katal, equal to 10⁻⁹ katals. It quantifies the amount of a catalyst that increases the rate of a chemical reaction by one nanomole per second. It is primarily used in biochemistry to express the activity of enzymes in biological samples.
