A metric unit of absorbed ionizing radiation dose equal to one thousand grays.

An SI derived unit used to measure high doses of absorbed ionizing radiation, equal to 1,000 grays or 1,000 joules of radiation energy absorbed per kilogram of matter. It is the standard unit for industrial irradiation processes, such as sterilizing medical equipment, treating food, or modifying polymers.
