kilokelvin

unitStandard termUnits

A metric unit of thermodynamic temperature equal to one thousand kelvins.

An SI unit used to express extremely high temperatures, equal to 1,000 kelvins. It is commonly used in astrophysics to describe stellar surface temperatures and in plasma physics for fusion reactor conditions. At this scale, the difference between kelvins and degrees Celsius becomes negligible for most practical calculations.
