Megahenry

unitStandard termUnits

A metric measure of electrical inductance equal to one million henrys.

This theoretical unit of inductance represents an exceptionally massive resistance to changes in electrical current. In practical electronics, inductance is usually measured in microhenrys or millihenrys. A component rated at one million henrys would require an impossibly massive coil of wire and magnetic core.

Heard on the job

You would need a coil the size of a building to get a megahenry of inductance.
