kilodegree

unitStandard termUnits

A unit of angular measurement equal to one thousand degrees.

A multiple of the degree used primarily in engineering and physics to express large angles or accumulated rotations. It equals 1,000 degrees, or roughly 2.77 full revolutions. It is rarely used for temperature, as the kelvin or Celsius scales have their own metric multiples.

Heard on the job

The test rig spun the assembly through a total rotation of 14 kilodegrees before the bearing failed.
