Cr2O3 ceramic coating, dark green to black, applied by plasma spray. It is one of the hardest sprayed oxides, polishes to a very fine finish and resists wear and many chemicals, so it is used on pump sleeves and plungers, mechanical seal faces, textile rolls and anilox rolls, where the coating is laser engraved with ink cells.
Anilox rolls get chrome oxide, ground and polished, then off to the laser for engraving.
