Powder route in which material is melted, solidified, crushed and sized. The particles are dense, angular and blocky, which makes them tough and chemically uniform but less free-flowing than spherical powders. Many ceramic powders, such as alumina, alumina-titania, chrome oxide and some zirconias, are made this way, as are some carbide grades.
Fused and crushed chrome oxide bridges in the hopper on humid days, run the vibrator on that feeder.
