Greige goods

nounStandard termTextiles

Raw, unfinished woven or knitted textiles that have not yet been bleached, dyed, or treated.

Raw fabric yardage straight off the loom or knitting machine, before any bleaching, dyeing, printing, or finishing processes are applied. Mills and converters buy greige goods in bulk as a blank canvas, later processing them into specific colors and finishes based on current market demands.
