Cheeser

nounShop talkTextiles

A small spool or bobbin used during the finishing stages of yarn production.

A cheeser is a specialized winding spool used to hold yarn in a cylindrical shape known as a cheese. Unlike a cone, a cheese has straight sides and lacks a taper, which allows for consistent tension during high-speed unwinding. Operators use these primarily in the final twisting and finishing stages before the yarn is warped or dyed.
