Super high frequency designates the microwave band of the electromagnetic spectrum between 3 GHz and 30 GHz, with wavelengths from ten centimeters down to one centimeter. These extremely short waves travel in strict line-of-sight paths and can be focused into tight, highly directional beams using parabolic antennas. This band supports high-bandwidth applications like satellite communications, point-to-point microwave links, and 5G cellular networks.
The new backhaul link operates in the super high frequency range, so we need perfect line of sight between the two towers.
Rain fade becomes a serious engineering factor in the upper end of the super high frequency band, requiring larger antennas or more transmission power to maintain the link during storms.

- UHF: UHF is the band immediately below SHF, ranging from 300 MHz to 3 GHz, and penetrates obstacles much better than SHF.
