A condition in rigging and hoisting where a load-bearing cable goes completely limp. This happens when a suspended load touches the ground or gets hung up on an obstacle while the winch keeps paying out line. A slackline is highly dangerous because the cable can unspool unevenly or snap violently if the load suddenly drops and catches the slack.

Stop the winch, you've got a slackline on the main hook.
