Pond life

nounShop talkShop Slang

A derogatory term for unskilled laborers or workers at the absolute bottom of the corporate hierarchy.

This insulting label describes entry-level workers, temporary staff, or unskilled laborers who hold no authority or specialized skills. It implies that the workers are easily replaceable and operate at the lowest level of the workplace ecosystem. Veterans sometimes use it to describe lazy or unmotivated crews who do the bare minimum to get through a shift.
