A heavy machine tool operated by pulling down a single large side lever.

A nickname for manual shop equipment actuated by a long side lever, such as older drill presses, arbor presses, or manual shears. The name refers to the physical motion required by the operator, pulling down the arm repeatedly throughout a shift to cycle the machine.
