The process of assembling set type and graphics into finished pages.

The physical assembly of loose type, blocks, and spacing material into a finalized page layout. During this stage, continuous text from galleys is divided into columns, and elements like page numbers, rules, and illustrations are inserted. The completed page is then tied off and transferred to the imposing stone.
