To align the edges of a stack of paper by tapping it against a flat surface.

To jog or straighten a loose stack of paper sheets so that all edges are perfectly flush. Press operators do this by holding the stack loosely, trapping a cushion of air between the sheets, and repeatedly tapping the bottom or side edges against a table. This ensures the paper feeds evenly into the press without jamming or misregistering.
