A piece of unbleached, heavy cotton fabric that runs under the primary cloth being printed on a rotary textile press. It extends past the edges of the print material to catch any ink or dye that overshoots the margins, preventing the excess color from staining the impression cylinder and transferring back onto subsequent yards of fabric.
