Proving out a program means running it slowly with rapids turned down, often in single block, with a hand over feed hold and an eye on the distance-to-go display. Some shops run it first with the tool offset raised so it cuts air above the part. Once every tool path is confirmed, the program is marked proven and runs at full speed.
