Snozzle

nounStandard termFire & Safety

An articulating boom with a piercing nozzle used primarily in aircraft rescue.

A specialized, hydraulically operated boom equipped with a hardened piercing nozzle, typically mounted on aircraft rescue and firefighting apparatus. The boom extends and drives the piercing tip directly through an aircraft fuselage or a shipping container. Once inside, it discharges water or foam in a wide pattern to extinguish internal fires without requiring crews to enter.
