Quad data rate (QDR) expands on double data rate by using independent read and write ports that each transfer data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock. This allows four data words to be transferred per clock cycle. Designers use QDR SRAM in high-performance networking and communications equipment where simultaneous reads and writes are necessary to maintain high throughput.
Heard on the job
We need to specify a QDR SRAM for the packet buffer to handle the line rate without bottlenecks.
