This continuous correction method periodically disconnects an amplifier from its input, shorts the input to ground, and measures the resulting output voltage. The circuit stores this offset error on a capacitor and subtracts it during normal operation. It effectively eliminates DC offset, low-frequency noise, and temperature drift in sensitive analog-to-digital converters and op-amps.
The ADC uses an autozeroing topology to keep the offset drift below one microvolt across the whole temperature range.
