A band-stop filter heavily attenuates signals within a specific frequency band, leaving frequencies above and below that band relatively unaffected. When the rejected band is very narrow, it is called a notch filter. These are frequently used in audio and radio circuits to eliminate specific interference, such as 60 hertz mains hum.
Put a 60 hertz band-stop filter in the signal path to get rid of that AC line noise.
