Temperature loggers embedded in the concrete record how warm it has been and for how long, and that temperature-time factor is matched to a strength curve built in the lab for the same mix (ASTM C1074). Contractors use it to decide in real time when to strip forms, stress tendons, open a pavement or pull cold weather protection. The curve holds only for the mix it was developed on.
Maturity method says the deck hit 3,000 at 2 a.m., so the PT crew can start stressing at six.
